Financing New Hampshire's Cities and Towns: A Data BookBrief Description | Executive SummaryIn 2006, cities and towns in New Hampshire appropriated approximately $4.5 billion to fund both municipal services and their portion of county and school expenditures, only slightly less than the $5 billion in anticipated state expenditures during the same time period. Unfortunately, no easily accessible data has been available that would allow an analysis of these expenditures or the financing of the municipal services these expenditures represent. This report – and the associated data on the Center’s website– is designed to fill that gap. In this report, we provide an analysis of the financing of local government from a statewide perspective and provide examples of the data we collected on each city and town in the state. Data for each town is available on the Center’s website. |
