We continually monitor both the spending and revenue sides of state budget. We research the reasons spending on certain state activities and programs programs tend to expand disproportionately. We are interested in making the state budget, as well as the process by which it is developed and adopted, more easily understood by the public, the news media, and participants in the legislative process.

The Center has published extensively on the topic of Healthcare finance and publishes an index of NH's population without health insurance coverage.

The Center has published extensively on the topics of school finance and educational quality in its 10 year history.

The Center has recently completed a review of Children's Mental Health prevalence, workforce capacity, and service use as part of the Endowment for Health's new theme kick-off.

There are many ways to describe New Hampshire and many ways to understand New Hampshire . By living and working here, we all come to understand the state through direct contact with its people, places, and politics. This package of graphs, tables, and text captures the reality of New Hampshire in a different way: through things that can be measured, compared, and tracked over time. The collection is a reference book that the Center compiled for the 2007 associates of Leadership New Hampshire.

The Center continues to look at local government issues from a statewide perspective. Trends in county finance, property taxes, and the impact of SB2 on town spending are all topics of interest.

We are compiling and analyzing data regarding the adult corrections system in New Hampshire. As this project progresses, we anticipate releasing a number of reports that will highlight issues and propose new policies.

Steve Norton, Executive Director and Dennis Delay, Deputy Director gave several presentations on the state budget, the history of education finance, and on business growth in NH to the incoming legislatures for the 2007-2008 biennium.
